When my father was starting his business he said that he wanted to lease office space. He said that it would give him the flexibility he wanted and allow him to have a great deduction. He said that he could claim his lease payments as a deduction cost when he filed his business taxes with the IRS. He said that since he did not know what the company was going to cost to maintain that the deductions would be very beneficial. He has been able to file the lease payments as deductions every year and is very happy with his decision to lease the space.
