The first year that we moved into our neighborhood we had a wonderful surprise from the local fire department. It turns out that the tradition is every year Santa drives around in the fire engine and turns on Christmas carols in the neighborhood. The kids really started to look forward to that. Unfortunately, I read in the paper that due to the city they had to cancel that expense. I quickly found a web site that produces a santa claus letter and I was able to have them send it to the kids. This way the kids may not see Santa in their neighborhood but they know he cares.
