I hate summer with a vengeance because it is ridiculously hot. I have been considering buying a few portable AC units for the house because it is intolerably hot in the summer. Which is the best portable ac in your opinion? Since I am buying a few units, I am looking for something priced below $500. Another condition for the ac unit is that it must be environmentally friendly. It would be fantastic if the machine could also remove moisture from the air! Sanyo and Koldwave are two brands I am familiar with. Besides ac units, I also do not mind getting air coolers that utilize ice and water to cool the space.
