The gait analysis is actually an examination of the way we walk. Forensic scientists can use that to identify suspects from a CCTV tape if a face is not identifiable, because we are all somewhat unique inside the way we walk. That has not led to convictions, but has linked suspects to crimes, of which other proof is then used to convict them. Gait analysis is also used to clinically determine in the event that there is any problems with the way of which someone walks that may be causing problems.
