What do you do if you have a dog who refuses to eat dog food? That’s the position we found ourselves in when we picked up our first dog from the local rescue home. “What should we feed him?” my husband asked the young lady who’d brought him to us in the waiting room. “Oh he eats anything.” she said “Any puppy food out of a tin will do.” We left with our new puppy, deciding to call him Seb, which seemed a much more appropriate name for Jack Russell than Fido which is what he’d been named by the rescue staff. The first thing we did when we got Seb home was to take him out to the back garden. We spent about 20 minutes trying to encourage him to have a pee. He resolutely refused to co-operate and kept trying to hide behind my legs. In the end we gave up. I was cold and needed a cup of tea. It was the first inkling that we had, that life with Seb wasn’t going to be quite as easy as we’d thought. Of course the first thing he did when he got upstairs was cock his leg against the hall table. We didn’t scold him. We guessed he was as nervous as we were. He wandered off to our bedroom, jumped on the bed and was soon snoring loudly. My husband and I were left wondering if we’d really done the right thing. Later that night we offered him some food. He took one look at it and wandered off. “He must have something” said my husband, who never having owned a dog was not as used to a dogs manipulative ways as I was. “He’ll eat when he’s hungry.” I tried to reassure him, though having looked at Seb’s stubborn little face, I wasn’t as confident as I sounded. And I shouldn’t have been. He refused the dog food all that night and every night for seven days. In the end we called the rescue home and they advised us to bring him in for a check-up, which we did immediately. Guess what? There was nothing wrong with him. The vet suggested we gave him some cooked chicken breast to stimulate his appetite. Did it work? Of course it did. We stopped off at the corner shop on the way home, bought some cooked chicken and put it down for him as soon as we got home. He lapped it up immediately. 10 years later we are still feeding him cooked chicken breast every night. He never has taken to dog food!

The happiness that my dog brings into my life is something that I’ll always cherish. I know that my dog won’t be with me forever that’s why all the love and loyalty that it brings me, I return all the way. My dog is my partner. Whenever I’m sad, he’ll always feel it and cheer me up with his mannerisms that are just too adorable. We bond a lot. I got him an electronic dog training collar to teach him new and different tricks and commands since we already passed the basic ones such as “Stay”, “Fetch”, “Sit” and “Heel”.

Regarding an album of cat photos, I called my brother and sister to talk with them about my mom’s move. I really wanted them to help me getting her settled into the retirement center. I asked them both to come over to my house for dinner to go over the plans. They both said they would be there on Saturday evening. I was also planning on showing them all of the Cat Photos that my mom had collected over the last few years. Most of the cat photos were images of her beloved cats, and she cherished everyone of them. I was really hoping that my sister would want to take them with her for her two young daughters. Surely, they would be able to do something with them.

dog collar is an important accessory for your belovved poochie. It serves as a security and also an identification when your dog gets lost in a bad day.
Some dog collars are used to train dogs, this is very useful when training for obediecy and behavior. I have seven dogs and they all have dog collars of differnet colors, style and personality.
I have ms. pink, yellow, green, orange, red, purple, blue and also there are some that are edgy and more punky.
They all give smile to whoever sees them… they are friendly with people who do not psoe harm.

One of the things that makes pet ownership difficult is knowing that our pets will be departing the world before we do, for the most part. Worse is having to make the decision of letting a beloved pet go when its time has come. It’s pure projection, but when you euthanize a pet, you imagine reproach, you think that the dog you’ve loved all its lifetime — and who has loved you — will leave the world thinking that you’re doing it harm. Not so. You are judged on your daily deeds, on having given your dog a good life. Dogs don’t fear death in any case, so whatever momentary negative emotion you think you see has nothing to do with your good deed: Easing your dog’s pain.
