The place where I have been working for the last fifteen years has undergone such a huge number of changes that it really is not the same sort of plant at all anymore. I am no longer running a punch press all day as I used to, I now am managing an entire area full of machines and taking care of the statistics that are constantly flowing toward my computer screen to keep me aware of the way things are going on the shop floor. I owe this change to the servo control systems that are in charge of our machines now.
