my husband has been unemployed for the last nine months.  Our mortgage, and our power, water and Internet bills pretty much he got my whole paycheck. We have been falling back on our retirement savings in order to pay for necessities like groceries and our car payment and insurance.  I have been considering debt consolidation, to help us lower our payments.  If he does not find a job soon, our savings account will be run dry.  It would be nice if I was able to reduce the mortgage payment down to half price. We have already paid 17 years on a 30 year loan.
