Breaking the Story Code

January 29th, 2010 by admin

The League of Utah Writers, Utah Valley Chapter, had Katherine Farmer speak at their monthly meeting last night. Katherine has spent thirty years of research on what makes stories (books, plays, movies, etc.) popular among consumers. Her research has been proven to show which stories will be successful within ninety percent. Last night, her main focus was on breakdowns of the roles characters play. It was fascinating and foolproof. Her breakdown applies to any genre of any story, whether it be children’s books, adventure, or paranormal romance. Authors across the board could use this valuable information to ensure that their books will sell continually. Katherine Farmer teaches this breakdown at Utah Valley University.
